About Vanessa
Dr. Vanessa Shannon is a certified mental performance consultant (CMPC) with almost 20 years of experience. She is passionate about helping people, athletes, managers, executives, teams, companies, and organizations optimize their performance. Over the past 11 years, Dr. Shannon has held applied positions with IMG Academy, the University of Louisville Athletic Department, and the Cincinnati Reds. She spent the first 8 years of her career in academia as a department chair at Tennessee Wesleyan University and a faculty member at West Virginia University. Dr. Shannon holds a PhD in Education with a specialization in Performance Psychology from the University of Tennessee, a MS in Exercise Psychology from Kansas State University, and a BA in Health and Human Performance from Rice University where she was a member of the NCAA Women’s Volleyball Team.
