Women of NAWBO and WPO Give to Communities Across the Country

Late last month, NAWBO partnered with the Women Presidents Organization (WPO) for our first annual National Day of Service. The goal of the event was for our members to come together on one day each year to help women in our communities, and for 2022, we partnered with Dress For Success—a nonprofit that provides professional attire for low-income women to help support their job-search and interview process—in 10 of its U.S. locations.

Volunteers also served at and donated to their local organizations of choice that support women and girls. And still, others found their own unique ways to get involved. “As a NAWBO member, former WPO member and supporter of Dress for Success, we have to say that we love this event!” shared Mary Michele Nidiffer of StyleFinder, a boutique in Raleigh, North Carolina. They donated a portion of all sales on National Day of Service to Dress For Success.

Dress For Success was extremely grateful for all the different forms of support. “I wanted to extend our deepest thanks for the partnership and volunteers,” said Angeline Evans, who heads up the Dress For Success location in Miami, Florida. “The women were amazing, and did a great job packing gifts and writing notes to encourage our clients on their job search.”

This year’s event sponsor JPMorgan Chase was also thrilled to be involved and even sent their own volunteers to Dress For Success locations. “At JPMorgan Chase, we believe that all women deserve equal opportunity to follow their ambitions and build their careers,” said Thelma Ferguson, Vice Chair of JPMorgan Chase Commercial Banking. “Support and mentorship between women professionals are crucial to fostering that. We are honored to collaborate with Dress for Success, the WPO and NAWBO to help women build the confidence and skills they need to reach their full potential.”

Thank you to all our chapter leaders and members who participated this year. Also, a special thanks to WPO and JPMorgan Chase for partnering to make our impact even greater.
