WBC Speaker Q-and-A: Dr. Patricia Greene’s Passion for Entrepreneurship Shapes Her View of Change

Sep 23, 2015 | Uncategorized

Dr. Patricia Greene’s positions as the Paul T. Babson Chair in Entrepreneurial Studies and the academic director for the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses and 10,000 Women programs at Babson College allow her to focus on her passion. She loves to talk about entrepreneurship, sharing her soapboxes on changing the way the world does business with anyone who will listen. When it comes to her own business and entrepreneurial endeavors, Dr. Greene is also a co-owner of Artworks, a specialty store in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Read on to find out how she’s inspiring the change at this year’s National Women’s Business Conference hosted by NAWBO next week.

Q: Tell us about some of your current business goals.

I’m working to help build Portfolia, the premier equity crowdfunding platform focused on both women-led businesses and women investors.

Q: What are some things you’d like to see changed for women entrepreneurs?

I would like to see women entrepreneurs driving new business and funding models. Not things changed “for” them, but things changed “by” them/us.

Q: We live and work in an environment of constant change…how have you learned to embrace change?

I’ve learned to embrace change by staying curious, always wanting to see what might be possible next.

Q: What’s one change you’ve recently made or been part of, and how have you been positively impacted by it?

I moved to Austin, and I am spending more time with the family.

Q: Why is a conference like this one for women entrepreneurs critical?

It’s a place where all questions can be addressed. Everything is on the table.

Q: If women walk away from your presentation with one thing, what do you want it to be?

Confidence.

You won’t want to miss Patricia and all the other amazing speakers who will be at the National Women’s Business Conference, September 27-29 (Leadership Boot Camp on the 27th and the Conference on the 28th-29th), in San Antonio, Texas.
