Most people struggle to correctly identify their strengths. Yet, that’s Precious Williams’ specialty. Since she was 16 years old, Precious has leveraged her personal strengths as a professional speaker and pitch master to develop Perfect Pitches by Precious and help high-profile companies and Fortune 500 executives stand out in their industries.
When she was still in high school, her principal asked if Precious would deliver a speech, which garnered her a standing ovation and began her journey as a stellar speaker. From there, she went on to deliver a speech for the Governor of Missouri and soon was bombarded with speaking requests. Precious went on to become a 13-time national elevator pitch champion, and has gained international attention for her work while appearing on Shark Tank and CNN and in countless newspaper and magazine articles. She has also helped her executive clients place first in their own pitch competitions.
In 2019, she launched Perfect Pitches by Precious, and now works with high-profile companies like Microsoft, Google and LinkedIn as a corporate trainer to identify teams’ strengths and help companies shine in their industry. She also works one-on-one with select executives to identify their target market and elevate their impact. “A lot of clients don’t know how to sell their own genius,” she says. “You may be experienced in your strength, but how do you get others to buy your genius? I want you to be the best version of you. I want to focus on your strengths.”
That’s something that Precious has detailed in her three best-selling books, Pitching for Profit, Bad Bitches and Power Pitches and Bad Bitches and Power Pitches the Workbook Combo. As she describes on her website, her “no-holds-barred, no-nonsense books will show you how to utilize your bad-bitch mentality to achieve your dreams.”
Precious was recently selected for NAWBO’s Power Your Dream scholarship sponsored by AARP and has since become a member of NAWBO New York City. Since connecting with NAWBO, Precious notes that she recognizes ways she can both give and receive value. “I definitely see that NAWBO is truly committed to helping women grow and expand their businesses. When I reach out, they are on it! They see that I am a speaker and want to incorporate me into the NAWBO family,” she says.
Looking ahead, Precious is excited to continue to grow Perfect Pitches by Precious and expand her work with colleges, universities and business schools. She is also working on launching her fourth book. Beyond that, she is looking forward to shining a light for women. “I’m living proof that when I set my mind to something, I am not giving up,” Precious says. “A lot of times, what I truly love to do is to show women that the ‘flaws’ we have are really hidden strengths. I’m bold and assertive and women love it. There is nothing you cannot do.”
