NAWBO supports easing the burden on America’s small businesses.
Washington, D.C. —The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) stands behind U.S. Senators Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Bob Menendez (D-NJ), Thom Tillis (R-NC) and Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), sponsors of the S. 4117, the Paycheck Protection Small Business Forgiveness Act. This bill would streamline the forgiveness for Paycheck Protection Program loans of less than $150,000 with a one-page forgiveness document.
“Our nation’s women business owners applied for and received PPP loans to keep their employees on the payroll and to do their part to keep our economy on a path forward,” explains Cristina Morales Heaney, NAWBO National Board Chair. “Now, it’s time for Congress to pass this legislation that will allow business owners to keep doing their part— working on their businesses, ensuring their employees stay employed, and contributing to the health of their local economies instead of spending valuable time and resources to complete burdensome paperwork.”
In a recent NAWBO survey, 45% of respondents stated that they still need access to capital in the form of grants or loans, and another 33% said that they need tax credits as the nation continues to face the pandemic.
