Washington, D.C. — The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and Chair of the NAWBO National Board Cristina Morales Heaney released the following statement as the Biden transition team continues to prepare for 2021.

“NAWBO looks forward to working with the Biden Administration on ways to help keep our economy strong and our communities safe. As we work with the Administration as well as Congressional leaders on both sides of the aisle, we know our bipartisan approach will lead to the best path forward for women business owners as they continue to struggle in the wake of the pandemic. We will continue our efforts to ensure access to capital, to find avenues for debt relief, and to promote the credibility and visibility of women business owners by demonstrating the economic impact of women entrepreneurs in the global marketplace.

“We are also proud to see Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris as the first woman and the first Black and Indian woman of color serving in such a critical role in our American democracy. As representatives of a diverse group of women entrepreneurs, advocates for bipartisan business issues, and women in leadership, we salute the Biden Administration’s efforts to put women-especially women of color- in prominent leadership roles. We genuinely believe our nation hears the voice of women business owners when we have a seat at the table during the tough conversations, and we look forward to the opportunity to provide recommendations for our NAWBO women to serve.”
