(Washington, D.C. November 27, 2017)—The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is pleased to announce two members of their national leadership will be attending the U.S. Government’s Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES). Shaila Rao Mistry, NAWBO National Board Member and Virginia Littlejohn, former NAWBO National President, will be participating in the eighth annual GES to be held in Hyderabad, India on November 28-30, 2017. Last month, the NAWBO annual Women’s Business Conference served as a stop on the Road to GES.
“We are pleased to have members of NAWBO National’s leadership selected to participate in the GES to discuss and learn more about the global state of women entrepreneurs. We look forward to hearing about the connections they make and the opportunities we may have to connect and support women business owners in other countries,” said Kathy Warnick, NAWBO National Board Chair. “NAWBO is committed to exporting any programs and ideas we may have that can be of benefit to other women entrepreneurs.”
This year’s GES will highlight the theme Women First, Prosperity for All, and will focus on supporting women entrepreneurs and fostering economic growth globally. Ivanka Trump, Advisor to President Trump will headline the United States delegation to the Summit.
The collaboration with the U.S. Global Entrepreneurship Initiative is one of several internationally focused initiatives in both the public and private sectors over the last several years. Other international partnerships and collaborations include Femmes Chefs d’Entreprises Mondiales (FCEM), the Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women (IEEW), the International Council on Small Business (ICSB) and the Global Summit of Women.
