NAWBO National Endorses Senator Rob Portman
NAWBO National Continues Congressional Endorsement Campaign
(Washington, D.C. September 12, 2016)—The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is announcing its endorsement of U.S. Senator Rob Portman in his re-election bid to the U.S. Senate from Ohio.
NAWBO National screens candidates for endorsement solely on their history of business ownership or their voting record demonstrating their consistent support of business owners.
“NAWBO’s bipartisan endorsement campaign demonstrates our support for candidates who understand and appreciate the contribution women business owners make to the economy,” said Teresa Meares, NAWBO National Board Chair. “Senator Portman’s extensive experience in both the public and the private sectors allow him to understand the issues impacting women entrepreneurs and the opportunity to work on solutions to the obstacles they face. We are pleased to endorse him and look forward to working with him on behalf of all women business owners in Ohio and across the country.”
Additional endorsements will be made by NAWBO prior to the November 8 general election. In 2014, 94% of the candidates NAWBO National endorsed were elected.
“This Senate race offers the voters of Ohio a clear choice: a brighter future with my pro-growth policies for better wages and more jobs or a return to failed policies of higher taxes, burdensome regulations, and bigger government,” said Rob Portman. “Women owned small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy and I am honored to receive the endorsement from the National Association of Women Business Owners.”
The annual Women’s Business Conference sponsored by NAWBO will take place September 18-20 in Columbus, OH.
