(Washington, D.C. September 28, 2016)—The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is announcing its endorsement of Mimi Walters in her bid for re-election to Congress from California’s 45th District.

NAWBO National screens candidates for endorsement solely on their history of business ownership or their voting record demonstrating their consistent support of business owners.

“NAWBO is proud to represent women business owners in all sectors, sizes and stages of business development and advocate on their behalf to make it easier for women to start and grow businesses,” said Teresa Meares, NAWBO National Board Chair.  “Mimi Walters has a track record that shows she understands and supports the significant contribution small business owners make to this economy.  We are pleased to announce our endorsement of her candidacy for re-election and look forward to working with her on behalf of our members and all women business owners.”

Rep. Walters said, “I am honored to receive the National Association of Women Business Owners’ endorsement.  Women-owned small businesses are critical to our economy, and I will continue to fight to get Washington out of the way, so that these small businesses, our most dynamic job creators, can thrive.”

Additional endorsements will be made by NAWBO prior to the November 8 general election.  In 2014, 94% of the candidates NAWBO National endorsed were elected.
