Washington, D.C. —The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is announcing its endorsement of U.S. Representative Jackie Speier in her bid for re-election in California’s 14th District.

“Congresswoman Speier has been a long-standing advocate for women business owners and at the forefront of so many issues important to NAWBO members,” explains Molly Gimmel, NAWBO National Board Chair.  “From parity in government contracting to education on cybersecurity, Congresswoman Speier is consistently and tirelessly addressing the obstacles and opportunities she sees in the women business owner community and working hard to make positive change. We are proud to endorse her bid for re-election.”

“Congresswoman Speier has been championing important issues faced by women for over a decade. The NAWBO-San Francisco Bay Area Chapter is proud to support her and applauds her efforts to improve the economic, social and political landscape for women in business,” says Emily Wirowek, NAWBO-San Francisco Bay Area Chapter board member.

NAWBO National considers candidates for endorsement after they have won their primary. The selection of candidates is based solely on their history of business ownership or their voting record demonstrating their consistent support of business owners. Additional endorsements will be made by NAWBO prior to the November 6 general election.
