(Washington, D.C. October 18, 2016) — NAWBO National continues Congressional Endorsement Campaign. The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is announcing its endorsement of Doris Matsui in her bid for re-election to Congress from California’s 6th District.

NAWBO National screens candidates for endorsement solely on their history of business ownership or their voting record demonstrating their consistent support of business owners.

“NAWBO is proud to serve as the voice of our country’s more than 11 million women business owners.  We support Congressional candidates who understand the obstacles and opportunities women business owners face,” said Teresa Meares, NAWBO National Board Chair.  “During her time in Congress, Doris Matsui has demonstrated her understanding of the women’s business owner community and her willingness to advocate on behalf of them.  We are pleased to endorse her in her bid for re-election and look forward to working with her.”

“I am honored to receive the NAWBO endorsement. NAWBO plays a critical role ensuring women can reach their full professional potential,” said Rep. Matsui.

Additional endorsements will be made by NAWBO prior to the November 8 general election.  In 2014, 94% of the candidates NAWBO National endorsed were elected.
