NAWBO National Continues Congressional Endorsement Campaign
(Washington, D.C. August 16, 2016)—The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is announcing its endorsement of U.S. Congressman Steve Stivers in his bid for re-election in Ohio.
NAWBO National screens candidates for endorsement solely on their history of business ownership or their voting record demonstrating their consistent support of business owners.
“NAWBO was founded 41 years ago to advocate on behalf of all women entrepreneurs,” said Teresa Meares, NAWBO National Board Chair. “As a small businessman and an elected official, Congressman Stivers has shown his consistent support for and understanding of the contributions small business owners make to our economy in Ohio and around the county. We are pleased to announce Congressman Steve Stivers as a NAWBO endorsed candidate for 2016 and look forward to working with him on behalf of our members and all women business owners.”
“I am honored to have the support of women business owners who represent the fastest growing segment of our economy,” Congressman Stivers said. “Together, we will work to remove the barriers to starting and growing a business — curbing excessive regulation, increasing access to capital, fighting rising health care costs, and simplifying our tax code.”
Additional endorsements will be made by NAWBO prior to the November 8 general election. In 2014, 94% of the candidates NAWBO National endorsed were elected.
