Washington, D.C. —Today, the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Institute for Entrepreneurial Development is commending the launch of the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative (W-GDP) by the Trump Administration led by Advisor to the President, Ivanka Trump.
On February 7 President Trump signed a memorandum establishing the W-GDP. This new initiative is aimed at coordinating America’s commitment to one of the most undervalued and powerful resources in the developing world— women. The goal of the W-GDP is to help 50 million women in developing countries realize their economic potential by 2025.
“Investing in women means investing in families, communities and nations. The NAWBO Institute fully supports the W-GDP goal of reaching 50 million women by 2025 through focusing on education for women and encouraging female entrepreneurship around the globe,” says Loreen Gilbert, NAWBO Institute for Entrepreneurial Development Board Chair. “We look forward to partnering together in this initiative to achieve greater financial stability and prosperity for women.”
