There’s nothing like a room full of entrepreneurial women who are all there to connect, learn and lift one another up, and this year’s NAWBO Leadership Academy in Charlotte, North Carolina, was no exception.
As one attendee and session speaker Lisa Crilley Mallis wrote on social media about it: “Choosing to travel and be away from our businesses for a few days takes energy, planning and resources—and the rewards are often hard to explain in words. It’s a feeling and once you are HERE, you just ‘get it.’”
This feeling permeated our days together—from the warm welcome from the women of NAWBO Charlotte who hosted a special reception; to keynotes from producer, film-maker and branding expert Amanda Brinkman and educator, social entrepreneur and visionary Molly Barker, founder of Girls on the Run International; to every session and moment in-between.
“These events are always insightful, and I took away some fabulous action items to help move my business forward,” shared Wendy Coulter. Meanwhile, Emily Parks said about her experience: “At events like this that occurred in Charlotte, you can feel the truth behind how folks say, ‘Together, everyone achieves more.’ We really are better together.”
