Are you interested in getting involved and joining a committee with NAWBO Chicago? Whatever your passion, we have a committee for YOU!

We are champions for solutions that address the unique business needs of entrepreneurial women. Each committee is an opportunity to help NAWBO Chicago thrive by progressing the issues and actions so valuable to women business owners. Through committees, you can get involved to foster impact, relationships, referral sources, and all essentials for business growth and expansion.

Advocacy CommitteeMelissa McAtee & Cathie Van Wert
 
The Advocacy Committee is charged with goals of advancing local and statewide legislation, policy and funding that enhance opportunities for women business owners. They educate members on what advocacy is and why it’s important to small and women-owned businesses. The local members may also work with the National organization on larger advocacy initiatives.
 
Diversity CommitteeVanessa Jackson
 
NAWBO Chicago’s goal is to fully represent the diverse makeup of the women business owner community through increased representation within ethnic and minority communities and to expand access to leadership opportunities for all. The Diversity Committee is working to create initiatives that will support our mission to empower female entrepreneurs regardless of race, religion, age, sexual orientation, national origin or disability. 
 
Membership CommitteeMelissa Lagowski
 
The Membership Committee promotes the growth of chapter membership through recruitment, hospitality, orientation and retention. Help to manage the chapter’s member and prospective member initiatives and work to improve the inclusivity and engagement of all members within NAWBO Chicago.
 
Celebration of Achievement CommitteeMelissa Lagowski

The Achievement Conference Committee plans, coordinates, and produces the annual Celebration of Achievement Conference to publicly recognize and honor the valuable economic and leadership contributions made by women business owners. Be a part of this extraordinary event!
