I’m thrilled to kick off another exciting month as your chapter president! With each passing day, we draw nearer to the highly anticipated Women Mean Business®: NAWBO Chicago’s 41st Annual Achievement Luncheon & Regional Entrepreneurial Conference, slated for April 25 at the Hilton Oak Brook. Believe me when I say it’s going to be an absolutely sensational day!
This month, let’s delve into the vital role that talent plays in propelling our businesses forward.
Talent forms the bedrock of every flourishing enterprise; it ignites innovation, propels growth, and supports sustainability. As women entrepreneurs, our distinctive skills, perspectives, and experiences empower us to confront challenges head-on and seize opportunities.
For me, one of the most rewarding aspects of serving as president of NAWBO Chicago is the opportunity to engage with fellow board members who bring a wealth of talent to the table. Whether it’s fostering connections at networking events, challenging conventional wisdom, delving into data analytics, sponsorships, or addressing the unique hurdles faced by nonprofits, our board members are deeply attuned to the needs of our membership. Through their dedication and diverse skill sets, they tirelessly strive to deliver excellence.
Harnessing their collective expertise, research, and unwavering commitment to our shared vision, they leverage their individual talents to enrich our Connects initiatives, workshop offerings, Annual Conference programming, and mastermind sessions—providing a fertile ground for learning, collaboration, and collective advancement for our members.
As we navigate entrepreneurship, we should be diligent about nurturing the unique talents within our own teams. Let’s strive to engage in dialogue that raises awareness about the latent skills waiting to be tapped, fostering a culture of innovation within our organizations.
I urge each of you to take a moment to reflect on your own distinct talents and ponder how they can propel your business endeavors forward. Consider stepping forward to serve on the NAWBO Chicago board of directors and share your invaluable talents with our community. Your contributions are not only welcomed but eagerly anticipated!
Please reach out to our esteemed executive director, Melissa Lagowski, to express your interest and seize this opportunity to shine. Together, let’s ignite inspiration, offer unwavering support, and elevate one another as we continue our entrepreneurial journeys.
Warm regards,
Cheryl Vargas
