Members at last year’s trip to Nicaragua.Looking for a chance to see the world? This year, NAWBO is offering a chance to do just that—and support women business owners in developing countries. This year’s Opportunity International Insight Trip is taking NAWBO members to Colombia for a week-long exploration of the country’s beauty, culture and inspiring women business owners.

Taking place from November 3-9, 2019, participants will travel to Bogota, Cartagena and Islas de Rosario to explore beautiful landscapes and aquatic life. Travelers will also have the chance to visit with women proprietors and students, and learn firsthand about the challenges of extreme poverty that many face.

Loreen Gilbert, Chair of the NAWBO Institute, is among the leaders coordinating the trip and notes that it’s a great opportunity for NAWBO members. “The last trip we took to Nicaragua was incredibly successful and the women who went had an amazing time and learned so much about what it meant to be a woman business owner in another, developing country,” she says.  “If you want to see the world a little differently, this is a great opportunity. It’s an opportunity to expand horizons, enlarge your borders and learn. Ultimately, we’re also going to have a lot of fun. It’s going to be a great experience to give back, but it’s also going to be a very fun trip.”
