Mary Nutting | CorTalent
Owner and President

In addition to being acknowledged by multiple organizations as an outstanding business owner and leader, Mary led NAWBO-MN through the pandemic leaving the organization on strong and solid footing.

Mary Nutting is the Owner and President of CorTalent, a national recruitment and retention consulting firm located in Bloomington, MN. Mary has 30-plus years of business experience, with the first half of her career spent working for a Fortune 500 Company. She started her first business in 2006 and CorTalent, a national executive recruitment and consulting firm, in 2010.

A WBENC-certified business, CorTalent helps growing companies find, select and retain top talent with an emphasis on culture and values fit. CorTalent’s expertise is in assisting small- and medium-sized entrepreneurial companies, particularly in filling key leadership roles. Its services include search, recruitment process training and consulting, talent assessment, and orientation and onboarding. CorTalent’s mission is to help changing, evolving, and growing companies rise to the top through optimization of the most valuable asset: their people.

CorTalent has been ranked in the Minnesota Top 25 Executive Search firms list for 9 years in a row, currently at number 8. The company was named Best Places To Work in 2019 and 2020 and was the 42nd fastest growing privately held business in Minnesota in 2020.

In 2014, Mary bought her business partner out in order to preserve the business, keep her employees employed, and continue the excellent work CorTalent was delivering to its clients. This was not only a large financial burden but a substantially increased workload for Mary as she transitioned to the sole owner personally responsible for all aspects of the business.

Mary accomplished much of this while tirelessly serving NAWBO-MN as president for three years. She was faced with leading the organization through the pandemic and managed to come out the other side, leaving the organization in a strong and solid place. She is the 2019 recipient of the MSPBJ’s Women in Leadership and the 2020 Enterprising Women awards.
