NAWBO Chicago Board of Directors Profile: Lynette DeRose

Nov 3, 2021

Name: Lynette DeRose
Company: Supporting Strategies | Chicago Southland
Role on Board: Treasurer

Q: What do you hope to contribute to NAWBO during your term as a board member? What are your top priorities?
A: As treasurer, I hope to guide the board in making sound financial decisions that strengthen the chapter financially. I want to provide transparency in reporting so that everyone on the board understands our financial position and how they can contribute to make it even better.

Q: How would you recommend that members make the most of their membership in NAWBO Chicago?
A: Members can make the most of their membership by actively participating. Attend events online and in person. Follow up afterward with women you meet at the events. Join a committee that interests you. Premier members can be a part of a mastermind group – that alone is worth far more than the cost of the annual membership.

Q: What advice do you offer for women who are new to owning their own companies?
A: My advice to women who are new to owning their own company: have a plan and work your plan. Do not get sidetracked by shiny objects. Be realistic with your expectations but also dream big! Work hard and seek advice from those further down the path than you are. Strong self-esteem and positive self-talk are vital to your success.
