Announcing our Second Panelist for Women on Boards
NAWBO San Diego’s Featured Program

SAN DIEGO— January 14, 2016 —The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) San Diego, which promotes, supports and educates women business owners in achieving success, announced today that they will partner with CREW San Diego to present their featured program “Women on Boards” with NAWBO California legend Betsy Berkhemer-Credaire along with Susan Salka, CEO of AMN Healthcare Services, Inc.; two other panelists will be announced soon. This special panel discussion will take place on Thursday, January 28, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Morgan Run Club & Resort, 5690 Cancha De Golf, Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92091.

In this panel discussion, you will learn:

  • The three key strategies covering visibility, leveraging contacts, and nonprofit boards.
  • The sooner a woman executive builds her network of contacts through nonprofits and visibility, the more likely she is to be selected for boards in her 50s and 60s.
  • You’ll hear the undeniable case for having more women at the decision-making tables of America’s public companies.

Betsy Berkhemer-Credaire author of “The Board Game – How Smart Women Become Corporate Directors,” is president and co-founder of Berkhemer Clayton Inc., retained executive search firm. Her book “The Board Game” reveals how 58 women directors found their first corporate board seats. She serves on the boards of the statewide National Association of Women Business Owners-California (NAWBO-CA), also Southern California Leadership Network (SCLN) and was previously on the consumer advisory board at Southern California Edison (SCE), and UCLA Medical Center.

Susan Salka is CEO, president and director of AMN Healthcare Services, Inc., (AMN). Under her leadership, AMN has become known as the innovator in healthcare workforce solutions and the largest and most diversified healthcare staffing company in the nation. Susan currently serves on the board of directors of McKesson, The Campanile Foundation at San Diego State University, and serves on the editorial advisory board of Directors & Boards magazine. She previously served on other public company boards, such as Beckman Coulter and Playtex Products.
