Cantwell joins a growing list of candidates supported by NAWBO National.
Washington, D.C. —The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is announcing its endorsement of U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell in her bid for re-election in Washington.
“Senator Cantwell knows what it is like to build a business from the ground up and the importance of high paying jobs in our communities,” explains Molly Gimmel, NAWBO National Board Chair. “She continues this hard work ethic and determination as a U.S. Senator, and NAWBO National values her efforts on behalf of our nation’s women business owners. From being an original co-sponsor on a law that provides resources to small businesses facing cybersecurity threats to introducing legislation to reauthorize spending for the Women’s Business Center program, we stand behind Senator Cantwell’s agenda for our nation’s businesses.”
"I am proud to receive the endorsement of the National Association of Women Business Owners," Senator Cantwell said. "Millions of women around the country are opening businesses, creating jobs, and driving innovation, and together we can fight to keep up this momentum. I will continue to work every day to make sure female entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses have the resources and support they need to keep driving our economy forward."
NAWBO National considers candidates for endorsement after they have won their primary. The selection of candidates is based solely on their history of business ownership or their voting record demonstrating their consistent support of business owners. Additional endorsements will be made by NAWBO prior to the November 6th general election.
