NAWBO National Congratulates Linda McMahon on Confirmation to Lead SBA

NAWBO National Looks Forward to Expanding Support for Women Entrepreneurs with SBA

(Washington, D.C. February 14, 2017)—The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is congratulating Linda McMahon on her confirmation by the United States Senate to lead the Small Business Administration (SBA).

“We congratulate Linda McMahon on her confirmation to serve as Small Business Administrator.  The SBA provides important resources to help women business owners start and scale their businesses, a mission we are proud to share and support” said Teresa Meares, NAWBO National Board Chair.  “We are proud to be a present and persistent advocate for all women business owners and the issues that impact them and we look forward to working with Administrator McMahon and her team to increase the support for women business owners across the country.”

According to the Library of Congress’ Federal Research Division, two out of every three net new jobs in the U.S. are created by small business.

NAWBO was founded in 1975 as the first advocacy organization for all women business owners.  Approximately 3/4s of NAWBO members are small business owners as classified by the SBA.

Linda McMahon is the co-founder and former CEO of the World Wrestling Entertainment.  Additionally, she is co-founder and CEO of Women’s Leadership Live that fosters a network of women business leaders and offers practical advice and inspiration at their annual conference.  She is also known for her speaking series, “Women Can Have It All.”
