Results-driven with over 15 years experience in developing, recognizing and bettering products, Lydia Chicles developed much of her expertise working in creative & management roles in the magazine and design industry. Involved with Magazines Canada, an influential industry advocate, she lead the efforts and navigated the changing world of the print industry which was especially significant in helping shape her understanding of digital media and early adoption. A A globetrotter at heart, Lydia was born in Greece, and has lived in South Africa, and Canada before settling in Central Florida. Early in her career she had the opportunity to go on buying trips to India, where she honed her intuitive design and negotiating skills.
In 2009 she founded BOLD! Technologies, a mobile apps and connected technologies agency. Graduated BOLD! From the award winning University of Central Florida Technology and Business Incubation Program in 2014 and has since been voted Best Orlando App Developers in 2016 by Clutch. With her dynamic team, Lydia produced their first Mobile Software as a Service (SaaS) Community Event Apps with the vision to offer this as a mobile solution to organizations and nonprofits enabling them to grow their revenues, activate community engagement and participation for a cause, while sharing relevant content and events with their constituents. Her strong beliefs of being resource responsible, while creating economic opportunities, have lead to the international adoption of the products, platforms and connected technologies she leads. Currently at 50,000+ users, Community Event Apps is the events based platform powering clients like Cisco’s Education Based Corporate Social Responsibility GETideas and the Orlando Fringe - the oldest running Fringe Film Festival in the United States. Community Event Apps was chosen as the events platform for The 25th Annual Orlando Fringe Festival and is used by a growing number of other foundations and nonprofits. Her Innovative approach to reimagining technology platforms to fit a millennial mindset has led her to win opportunities to participate in premier events like the Florida Hospital Council of Presidents Innovations Summit where BOLD! was selected amongst an elite group of global companies that were invited to participate and share their groundbreaking solutions. She is also the co-founder of To INSPYRE, a cloud based mentoring platform that has gained the interest of multiple Universities, Fortune 500 companies and other organizations in need of a mobile first mentoring platform.
Sitting on the Board of NAWBO Orlando as a Program Chair for 2+ years and now serving as the President of NAWBO Orlando has been an exciting way for Lydia to give back to the local Community. She also has the distinction of being nominated as one of 6 finalists in the 2013 NAWBO Business Plan competition sponsored by Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, Duke Energy, and Southwest.com. Additionally, she is featured as one faces of the women in technology in Central Florida in a research publication by WeVenture, a Florida Institute of Technology initiative. Lydia is also a Founders Institute Mentor, providing mentorship to high growth technology companies worldwide. As a former graduate of the award winning University of
Central Florida Technology and Business Incubation Program, this is especially meaningful. Lydia enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering in community events centered around the arts. She is passionate about helping with activities and workshops to achieve confidence with girls in STEM!
