SURVIVE OR THRIVE

Each March we celebrate International Women’s Day. The theme for 2021 is “survive or thrive,” featuring a panel of successful businesswomen who leaned in, learned, and led their organizations through the pandemic – achieving success against the odds!

Let’s take 2021 by storm! Join us for this empowering presentation.

FEATURING:

  • Mary Nutting, Owner & President of CorTalent and Immediate Past President of NAWBO Minnesota.
  • Nancy N. Alvarez, Head of the 8(a) Business Development Program, SBA Dallas/Ft. Worth District Office
  • Mary Cravets, Owner and Client Generation Specialist, Simply Get Clients

Mary Nutting
Mary Nutting is Owner and President of CorTalent, a national recruitment and retention consulting firm in Bloomington, MN. Mary helps growing companies find, select and retain top talent with an emphasis on culture and values fit. She founded the WBENC-certified company in 2010. Prior to starting her first business in 2006, she worked for a Fortune 500 company.

CorTalent has been ranked in the Minnesota/St. Paul Business Journal (MSPBJ) List of Top 25 Executive Search Firms for nine years in a row and recognized in their list of Best Places to Work in 2019 and 2020. Mary is the immediate past president for the Minnesota Chapter of NAWBO.

Nancy N. Alvarez
Since 2011, Nancy N. Alvarez has served as the Head of the 8(a) Business Development Program and the Women Business Representative for the U.S. Small Business Administration, Dallas/Fort Worth District Office. She leads, manages and oversees deployment of SBA’s Federal Contracting Programs to small businesses in a 72-county area.

Nancy is an advocate for small business inclusion and participation in government procurement and a champion of women-owned and disadvantaged businesses in the federal marketplace. She’s an advisory board member of the DFW Federal Agency Small Business Advocacy Council (FASBAC), a forum for small business professionals.

Mary Cravets
Mary Cravets is a Client Generation Expert and international speaker who helps entrepreneurs grow their businesses without working nights and weekends. She founded her company, Simply Get Clients, in 2010 because she saw small business owners complicating the heck out of growing their businesses. She works with clients to significantly increase income and reach their goals by customizing and simplifying customer generation efforts. Mary is a long-time member of NAWBO. She lives Atascadero, California.

NAWBO D/FW INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY SPONSORS:

At HireEffect™, we help Founders Find Freedom™.  Driven by our purpose – to boost the U.S. economy one small business at a time - we help founder-led and family-owned businesses thrive and grow, helping to create jobs in the communities we serve.

Our Way (how we do it): We offer outsourced bookkeeping, payroll, human resources, and advisory services, with a focus on cloud-based technology that gets business owners out from behind their desk, and back to why they started their business in the first place.

Focus on what you do best. Let us do the rest.

Risch Results is a recruiting firm that works closely with leaders to hire talented people to contribute to their culture and with the skills to play a critical role in effectively growing the business.

In order to find the right talent for hard-to-fill positions, three things set us apart:
Fit:
We can find the most qualified candidate based on skills and experience, but they may not be a values match for our client. We understand the nuances that make people work effectively and productively together, even with a diverse team. We use behavioral assessments to make sure our talented candidates have chemistry with our clients.

Research: Sometimes the right person for your company isn’t in a database. We know how to find people, starting from scratch with every search to bring the right candidates to your attention--not just people we’ve met for prior searches or who have responded to a job posting.

Experience: Together, our Risch Results team has decades of experience in human resources, staffing, and recruiting.
