NAWBO Achievement Luncheon: We Got This! Red

May 16, 2018

Nail polish fan or not, who doesn’t love reading their names (can we all agree the namers have the best job in the world?). Look at this line-up for spring: Jealous Much, Cuba Libre, Come to Bed Red, V.I.Please (a rather nice shade of berry, actually).

So what color was the 2018 Achievement Luncheon? We Got This! red, of course.

We got this, as in, the message is clear: women have a growing, collective strength in business and on boards. Yes, there are miles ahead to level the playing field, but more women are showing their authentic selves. That’s a great thing.

Proof: NAWBO Chicago’s Achievement Luncheon. An energy rippled through the crowd as speaker after speaker echoed the voices of many of us in business. Here’s a recap through the voices of the speakers — an amalgam of honored guests, NAWBO award recipients and board members, and YEA! soon-to-be graduates.

First up is the Young Entrepreneurs Academy. While this business start-up program for grades 6-12 has chapters across the United States, NAWBO is the only female-exclusive group. When these YEA! backers took the stage, it brought everyone to their feet.
