Message From Our President August 2024

Aug 6, 2024

It’s summertime in Chicago, which means our women business owners are likely slowing down to enjoy a reprieve from the busyness to take in some warm weather and sunshine in the Windy City. So many folks head out on vacations and staycations this time of year. Summer is a time to invest in ourselves and our relationships. As we head into autumn, things will soon ramp up again, with women business owners getting kids ready to go back to schools and universities come September.

Taking some time off from the daily grind is a great way to invest in our businesses. Yes, indeed, while it may feel frivolous to step away from the business, the universe has a way of using that downtime to our advantage by setting our minds and hearts up for what is to come. That’s our theme at NAWBO Chicago this month – invest. I want to remind our community of women business owners that investment means way more than setting ourselves up for a financial win or to double down on a capital investment needed in your business.

At NAWBO, investing in relationships and community is where we shine! Following our Summer Social, so many of us in this community stepped out to invest in relationships with other women business owners and share sisterhood and commonalities. Thank you for joining us!

The NAWBO Chicago Premier membership offers one of the most amazing ways to invest in ourselves, our sisters and in our businesses through access to Mastermind groups. This is a safe place for women business owners to let their hair down, connect with other women who are also trying build a business and to gain support and strategies from each other to invest and grow business. Mastermind groups are a powerful way to invest in ourselves. If you have ever felt a little alienated and alone as you try to juggle all the roles in your life, from daughter/sister/mother to entrepreneur, consider getting support from a Mastermind. They are set up for that very reason: to support you in this journey of entrepreneurship. Some NAWBO Chicago Mastermind groups are looking for new members, so reach out to [email protected] today and find a group for you. As you invest in yourself, be prepared to step deeper into the relationship with yourself and flourish in all your roles!
