How are you working to elevate your business, your team and your leadership as a woman business owner — and what does that word mean to you in your journey as a female entrepreneur?
Erin Kelly Herrera
Owner
Eclectik Design
As the female owner of the creative business, Eclectik Design, I’m committed to elevating my work and leadership from the inside out.
A single business has the power to truly transform someone’s life, and I believe that we are all deeply interconnected. That’s why I love helping women business owners elevate their visual brand, whether they’re just getting started or taking it to the next level. When their brand reflects their true selves, they create deeper, more meaningful connections — not just as professionals, but as people.
When building teams for creative projects, I aim to create a space where freelancers and vendors feel supported, respected, and excited to contribute to a project. When the energy behind the scenes is of mutual respect and collaboration, you get the best results.
Trusting my instincts and asking questions is what helps me lead and connect others. When I see something that can support someone’s business, I love connecting them to other people and opportunities. When we’re inclusive as female entrepreneurs it opens doors and creates a ripple effect of positive energy.

When I hear the word elevate I think of a move to a higher position and one of more importance; to step out of your comfort zone to learn and challenge yourself to grow.
The way that I have been elevating my company and team is in different manners. To start, I call my staff my team. I create an environment where everyone understands they are important to the whole to make us all successful.
As a female in my area of tax credit affordable housing there are very few companies owned and operated by females. I set a high standard for the team to be a step above others in the performance and care of our properties and residents.
I create opportunities where they can grow in their position. I provide training for all team members. I developed standard operating procedures for each of the positions. I let them work with me to define their roles and responsibilities. We have a weekly team meeting to discuss the events going on and set goals for everyone for the next meeting.
