ASHLEY LOGAN
Founder & CEO, Yakkety Yak

When Ashley Logan started in content marketing in 2012, content strategies were more focused on SEO-stuffing and obsessing over long-tail keywords than creating good content.

But Ashley knew there was a better way—through higher-quality journalistic articles and blog posts. Ashley left a successful career in commercial real estate to found Yakkety Yak, a full-service content marketing agency. It wasn’t easy to convince companies to get on board, but Ashley knew that she had to be willing to swim upstream and adopt new best practices to achieve the best results for her clients.

Over the next few years, Ashley built the company from the ground-up, without the help of investors, and with a focus on great storytelling. Today, Yakkety Yak is a leading marketing agency that fuses brand strategy and content production to craft high-impact stories for brands and businesses that care about doing good.

Never satisfied with the status quo, Ashley constantly looks for ways to provide more value for Yakkety Yak’s clients. That’s why she’s so excited to announce Yakkety Yak’s acquisition of Kindred Content, a purpose-driven, woman-led Chicago-based video production agency. The merger with Kindred Content presents an exciting opportunity to elevate storytelling through enhanced video channels.

The added bonus is that the teams have so much mutual respect from working together over the years. In 2019, Yakkety Yak and Kindred Content collaborated on “Stolen Moments,” the 2019 Giving Tuesday campaign for the American Migraine Foundation, which garnered more than 120,000 views, won a 2020 NYX Video Award, and secured a Silver Medal at the 41st Annual Telly Awards.

There’s no doubting the power of video marketing to appeal to and convert customers. In fact, more than 50% of consumers prefer video content to other forms of content such as email, social media and blog posts.

Since 2012, Yakkety Yak has inspired action through storytelling. The expanded production team allows the agency to offer more advanced motion graphics and animation for their clients’ long- and short-form video needs. It also allows Yakkety Yak to produce elite documentary projects, commercials, fundraising videos and virtual events

Ashley’s goal for Yakkety Yak is ambitious yet simple: continue to lead the way in content marketing. She’ll do this by showcasing the agency’s transparency, culture and reputation; building a team that upholds the agency’s core values and high standards; and, of course, never being satisfied.
