Advocacy CommitteeMelissa McAtee & Cathie Van Wert

The Advocacy Committee is charged with goals of advancing local and statewide legislation, policy and funding that enhance opportunities for women business owners. They educate members on what advocacy is and why it’s important to small and women-owned businesses. The local members may also work with the National organization on larger advocacy initiatives.

Diversity CommitteeVanessa Jackson

NAWBO Chicago’s goal is to fully represent the diverse makeup of the women business owner community through increased representation within ethnic and minority communities and to expand access to leadership opportunities for all. The Diversity Committee is working to create initiatives that will support our mission to empower female entrepreneurs regardless of race, religion, age, sexual orientation, national origin or disability.

Membership CommitteeMelissa Lagowski
