Why did you join NAWBO Chicago and what has been your experience belonging to the organization?

I joined NAWBO Chicago to be part of a community of women business owners who support each other and has a history of advocacy. I wanted to be part of that so I could help promote NAWBO and be a resource as they grow their business. NAWBO Chicago is very inclusive, and the members are there to lift each other up, not beat them down. Plus, the organization has been very receptive to me.

Why does the work of NAWBO Chicago matter?

NAWBO Chicago is the only women’s organization that provides more than just a networking platform. We are part of a national organization that advocates for policies that improve the business environment for women business owners.

How do you recommend members make the most of their NAWBO Chicago membership?

They should get involved with a local Connects group to have the ability to make deeper connections with other members on a monthly basis. Also, joining a committee is always a way to fast-track your learning of NAWBO and build relationships.

What is your favorite NAWBO Chicago event and why?

The Women Mean Business® Conference is my favorite since I have been part of the evolution of the event, from the Annual Achievement Luncheon to a thriving conference with several hundred women being able to socialize, connect and learn.
