NAWBO Members Took Action at 2008 Public Policy Days
Women business owners from across the country came together to make their voices heard at NAWBO’s 2008 Public Policy Days, February 4-6 in Washington, D.C.
Speaking Up
Conference attendees took part in discussions on health care, immigration, federal procurement, and other policy issues that affect women business owners. NAWBO members brought these issues to the forefront by visiting the offices of more than 40 members of Congress.
Getting InvolvedParticipants raised $5,300 for the NAWBO Political Action Committee (NAWBO PAC) by casting their votes in our onsite straw poll. Women business owners celebrated their political involvement at an election night party on Super Tuesday, then heard from Republican and Democratic pollsters, who shared their thoughts on what to expect in the months to come.
At this year’s Public Policy Days, NAWBO members showed that the power and influence of our combined voices continues to rise.
Continuing to Take ActionYou can continue to be an advocate all year long by visiting NAWBO's Legislative Action Center. Send follow up messages to your legislators and let them know that you expect results.
Help your NAWBO chapter get involved in Virtual Public Policy Days, a nationwide event that you can take part in without leaving home. Women business owners from across the country will be speaking with their members of Congress in their home districts March 17-28.
