NAWBO :: Best Practice: Connecting Points

Best Practice: Connecting Points

Chapter: NAWBO Chicago

Contact: Sheila Gidley, info@nawbochicago.org

Goal: Looking to find an informal way for Women Business Owners to meet and discuss relevant issues, NAWBO Chicago started an event called Connecting Points.

Implementation: Connecting Points is an informal gathering of members where they discuss issues pertinent to running a business.  The event is free and simultaneously held in 12 different locations.  Having 12 locations allows for members to pick the most convenient spot for them.  It also allows members to meet others who live and/or work in their area. Non members can attend the event twice before being asked to join.

Results: Members of NAWBO Chicago love this event.  It is the most often visited link in their newsletter.  It is also a good recruiting and retention tool.
