Best Practice: Entrepreneurship Day

Chapter: NAWBO Greater La Crosse

Contact: Lois Duna, lois@loisduna.com

Goal: To make high school students enthusiastic about the business world while creating greater visibility in the community for their chapter, NAWBO Greater La Crosse created Entrepreneurship Day.

Implementation: Entrepreneurship Day was held during Entrepreneurship Week USA. Local high school students entered a contest called “Making my BIG Idea a Business Reality.” Winners received the opportunity to spend a day touring businesses and interviewing the featured entrepreneurs.

Results: Entrepreneurship Day benefited both the local high school and the chapter. The students had the opportunity to see first hand what it is like to be an entrepreneur and learned a great deal. The chapter benefited by becoming more visible in the community and by strengthening thier existing relationships.
