As CEO of Douglass Screen Printers, a full-service screen and digital printing company, Ms. Hickey runs this multi-million dollar company with her ‘can do’ attitude and her attention to detail. Her day-to-day activities focus on market development, financial management, technological advancement and strategic planning. Douglass Screen Printers is one of only five Certified 3M Aircraft Film converters in the world and one of the elite few Certified Scotchprint Graphic Manufacturers in the country. But above all, they’re artisans who craft lasting impressions for some of the largest and most respected companies and institutions around the globe.
 
With over thirty years of screenprinting production and administrative management experience, Ms. Hickey also belonged to The Executive Committee, an international organization of CEOs, for nine years.  She has numerous years of membership in industry associations such as the Printing Association of Florida, the Specialty and Graphic Imaging Association, the Society for Service Professionals in Printing, and the Digital Printing and Imaging Association. She is a graduate of Leadership Lakeland Class XIX, and was named one of Tampa Bay’s Top Twenty Women in Business in 2000.  Her company has been listed for seven consecutive years in the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Top Women-Owned Businesses in the Tampa Bay area, named five consecutive years as one of DiversityBusiness.com’s Top 100 Diversity-Owned Businesses in the State of Florida, and in 2004 named one of the Top 500 Women-Owned Businesses in the U.S.  Her company is certified by NWBOC, WBENC and the State of Florida as a woman-owned business enterprise.  Politically active, the company is also a member of the Florida Chamber, Business Voice, and Women Impacting Public Policy.

Always the entrepreneur, Ms. Hickey has started Good Works LLC, which is focused on marketing solutions for small business. Her goal is to utilize her experiences in the printing industry to assist clients in marketing and growing their businesses.

Besides her entrepreneurial endeavors, Ms. Hickey’s community involvement is extensive.  She is active in the Lakeland Economic Development Council, NAWBO Lakeland Metro, and the Lakeland/Winter Haven Alumni Association for Delta Delta Delta. She currently serves as a trustee of the Polk Museum of Art and is a board member for the Advisory Council of WUSF Public Broadcasting, the Lakeland Rotary Club, and the Lakeland Area TEC Advisory Council.  She chairs the Trustees of First United Methodist Church, central Florida’s largest Methodist church. 

Social and philanthropic concerns revolve around memberships in PACE Center for Girls’ Believing in Girls Society, the Fellows of the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, the Cornerstone Society of WUSF Public Radio, Florida Southern College Spivey Society, First United Methodist Church and the University of Florida Varsity Club.  In 2005, she began funding the Douglass Screen Printers Serigraphy Collection at the Polk Museum of Art.  Additionally, she is a founding sponsor for Polk County’s Kids Tag Art, which provides supplemental funding for arts programs in Polk County schools.
